Two months of gigs in Paddington

by damo on Aug.26, 2010, under news/gigs

Starting in September, Keith Haus will be playing gigs every Friday night for two months in the Dudley Arms, which is pretty close to Paddington Basin.

Having done one trial gig we can report that it’s pretty good – large, old style pub, nice crowd, and a free barbeque*. The gigs go from 7pm to 1am, so pop down any time.

With a lot of time, expect a lot of different music, particularly soul, funk, some hip-hop, some modern discoey stuff and similar nonsense. Get involved!

Finally, there’s been a bit of a mix drought recently. Expect a new one here in the near future…

*The free barbeque does seem a bit too good to be true. We promise it was there when we first played though. The chicken wings were great.

Getting arty

by damo on Jun.21, 2010, under news/gigs

Keith Haus recently provided the music for the opening of exhibition of art made by a model and exhibited in a in a very posh clothes shop in Notting Hill. These are not the circles we normally hang around in. But it was very enjoyable indeed.

Lethal Pizzle will be playing the unveiling of the shop’s next exhibition on Thursday, July 8. If you want to come, get in touch

Not sure whether this is going to go ahead, and definitely not sure that we should publicise it at all, but…

mixtape – Monday 10/08/09

by damo on Aug.03, 2009, under news/gigs

Mixtape

Nihao! The next Mixtape night at Proud Gallery takes place on August the 10th, from 7.30pm until late. This night’s going to very summery and chilled, with a few acoustic acts, and more soulful, downbeaty stuff from us. This is a good thing though – it is a schoolnight, so downbeat is less likely to give you a horrible hangover in the morning. There you go, no excuses.

keith-haus gigs this weekend

by damo on Jul.15, 2009, under news/gigs

Want sommat to do at the weekend? On Friday, Keith Haus will be lugging their stuff to The Elgin, Maida Vale, for free music at a bar night. It’s right here.

On Saturday, we’re playing the opening of the bar/nightclub at Maitrise, a new boutique hotel thingy on Kilburn High Road. It all kicks off at nine, I’m fairly sure it’s free, and it’s here.

Date for your diaries…

by damo on Jun.09, 2009, under news/gigs

On Tuesday, July 14, Keith Haus will be playing the main room at Proud Gallery not once but four times! If that’s not value for money, I don’t know what is. Anyway, it’s a new night called Mixtape, showcasing a range of new singers and bands, and here’s the lineup for the first one:

7.30pm – doors open
9.30 – Louise Golbey
10.15 – Lux Lisbon
11.00 – The Yeah You’s
11.45 – Keith Haus DJs
1am – get the hell out!

(Me or Rob will also be playing in the gaps between acts, but it doesn’t look as impressive on a line-up list when you write it like that).

Tickets are £8 on the door, £6 with flyer (drop us an email and we’ll wang one over as soon as we receive them), or a fiver in advance through Seetickets (not up yet, but ditto).

Most importantly, according to the Proud Gallery website, they have “pub prices” Monday to Wednesday, so you won’t have to sell your clothes and family to afford one of those bottles of posh Kopparberg Pear Cider they sell there.

That’s it – see you there!

Crack out the massive afro wigs! Here’s a disco mix. It starts very chilled*, and gets funkier and tougher as it goes along. Or that’s the idea. Let me know what you think…

keith-haus: same sh*t, different way…

by damo on Apr.24, 2009, under news/gigs

Thanks to the magic of podcast syndication, or something, there are now more ways than ever for our living room noodlings to reach your listening device.

For those of you who like to dance in sillouette, often to U2 or Feist, against a primary-colour background: you can now subscribe to the Keith Haus podcast via itunes.

And for everyone else (and a special hello to those who like to mildly irritate others by playing music through the tinny speakers on their mobile while sitting on the back of the bus) you can subscribe via podcast.com.
